| Fraaie grote antieke rijstschotel, uitgevoerd in decor Tancrede in monochroom bruin, vervaardigd bij de bekende Maastrichtse aardewerkfabriek Societé Ceramique in de periode 1880 tot 1910. De schotel heeft een doorsnede van ca. 29 cm. en verkeert in uitmuntende conditie, geen barsten, stukken af of restauraties. Deze schotels zijn vervaardigd voor de Nederlands Indische afzetmarkt waar deze schotels zeer populair waren voor het opdienen van nasi puti atau nasi goreng. Many Dutch ceramics made their way to the Indonesian penninsular during the 400yrs of colonial rule in what was known then as the SPICE Isles. Although prized by the Timorese they are occassionally sold to supplement school fees or the purchase of livestock, both of which hold a high value in the lives of the subsistence level farmers of the highlands of West Timor.
