This is a lime powder container. The tiered plug is hand carved let susu that acts as the plug and base is eucalyptus base. Smooth finish of unknown age.
There are a couple of villages that continue the tradition of working in these most difficult of mediums BONE and BUFFALO HORN. The materials for their works come from a beast that was killed for last nights dinner or ceremony. Created in the highlands of West Timor where the tradition of chewing betel is alive and well as are the making of most of the accessories.
