These 2 excellent stand alone semi-circular amulet masks have been handcarved from a solid piece of bone that was last nights dinner. In keeping with making good use of the little that they have the Atoni in 2 villages specialise in creating works of art using little more than a pen knife to create these character filled faces.
From the village of Anin in Central West Timor. The enriched colour has been achieved by soaking the fresh bone in tea then allowing it to cure for several months before working the features into this most difficult of mediums.
They will make excellent centre pieces for necklaces or unique fashions statements.
